Rates for Rochester, NY and surrounding area

Standard Rate 

The initial fee of $100.00 covers travel expenses, assignment preparation and up to two hours of interpreting services.  Each additional hour of interpreting service will be billed at $45.00 per hour.

Premium Rate

High profile, platform, conference, highly technical, or any other higher demanding assignments will be billed at a rate of $120.00 initial fee. The initial fee covers up to two hours. Each additional hour will be billed at $50.00 per hour.

Emergency/Holiday Rates

The initial fee of $120.00 initial fee covers up to two hours.  Each additional hour will be billed at $55.00 per hour.

Emergency Rates are in effect for any assignment scheduled less than 24 hours prior to the start of the assignment.  Holiday fees will be assessed according to the U.S. government federal holiday schedule, which can be found at: 2012 Federal Holidays.

Terms

All assignments lasting less than two hours will be billed at the initial fee. Assignment times are rounded to half hour increments. An assignment intended for two interpreters and performed only by one interpreter (i.e. interpreter no-show, late cancel etc.) will be billed at time and a half. In such an event participants will necessarily adjust timing, breaks etc. according to the onsite interpreter. Unless previously negotiated, interpretation occurs only when both members (hearing and Deaf) of the intended communication are present. 

Contractual Limitations

Our contractual relationship precludes the recording or future use of my image or work product. My name and credentials may not be used for any current or future contracts or bids without my explicit written permission.

Coverage

Assignments over an hour and a half generally require a second interpreter. Referrals can be provided to assist you in securing additional services. I can also secure additional interpreters on your behalf and process all services on one invoice.

Reimbursable Charges

Parking, mileage, tolls, lodging, meals and any other travel or preparation costs will be negotiated at time of request.

Cancellations/Non appearance

Cancellations made to me with less than two full business days notice are considered untimely and will be billed in full (this includes cancellations due to inclement weather).  The multi-day cancelation notice is equivalent to the length of the assignment. For example, a four (4) day assignment requires four (4) full business days notice or will be billed in full. Cancelation policy of recurring assignments will be negotiated when services are scheduled. Participants that do not keep an appointment will be billed in full without exception.

As a certified professional in private practice, I adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, which can be found at NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.  For references please use my credentials page. Resume available upon request.

Tax Credits

Please note that fees for interpreter services are often tax-deductible.  You may refer to the U.S. Department of Labor’s website for more information.

Payments

Full payment is due 30 days from invoice date. Any single event billed at or in excess of $2,000 will be given a 5% discount if paid with in 15 days of invoice date.  Invoices can be provide at the close of the event if requested in advance. Checks should be made payable to Michelle M. Stack.
