RID is a national membership organization representing the professionals who facilitate communication between people who are deaf or hard of hearing and people who can hear. Interpreters serve as professional communicators in a vast array of settings such as: churches, schools, courtrooms, hospitals and theaters, as well as on political grandstands and television.

NAD is the nation's premier civil rights organization of, by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States of America.


American Association of the Deaf-Blind

AADB is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) national consumer organization of, by, and for deaf-blind Americans and their supporters. “Deaf-blind” or “deafblind” includes all types and degrees of dual vision and hearing loss. Our mission is to ensure that all deaf-blind persons achieve their maximum potential through increased independence, productivity, and integration into the community.

PEPNet's mission is to improve transition services and educational access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing including those with co-occurring disabilities, thus enhancing educational opportunities.

Association on Higher Education and Disability

AHEAD is a professional membership organization for individuals involved in the development of policy and in the provision of quality services to meet the needs of persons with disabilities involved in all areas of higher education.


Conference of Interpreter Trainers

CIT is a professional organization dedicated to laying the educational foundations for interpreters to build bridges of understanding. While focused primarily on interpreters working between American Sign Language and English, we welcome educators who work with other languages, whether signed or spoken.
